Crowds head off for Bank Holiday Weekend

Iceland's "Verslunarmannahelgi" bank holiday weekend is ahead, and people have already taken to the road. Heavy traffic was through most main towns in Iceland from four pm yesterday until eight o-clock last night. North-bound traffic reached a climax at six pm.

According to police in Akureyri, north Iceland, camp sites were pretty crowded last night. Weather conditions in the north aer very good, but the south is ridden with heavy rain. Over six hundred people had arrived in Ásbyrgi, north Iceland last night, where Sigur Rós are set to play, today, Friday.
