See how the heavy wind in Reykjavik affected pedestrians

Iceland has been hammered by a storm which got a few people into trouble on their walk in Reykjavik this morning.

A group of four people was walking by Höfðatorg, a 19 floor skyscraper located centrally in Reykjavik. As can be seen in the video above the heavy wind surrounding the tall building made their walk quite difficult.

Four people on foot by Höfðatorg are having trouble standing upright due to the wind. They all fall to the ground and one of them seems to be blown all the way down the ramp leading to the parking garage.

The Reykjavík police warned people of strong winds in certain areas of the city, especially near Höfðatorg. The strong gusts of winds are said to be extremely dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. The police advises people against being in the area today.

Very bad weather is now in the north and west parts with Increasing wind in the south later today. Increasing wind and precipitation is expected in the east by evening, but decreasing wind and precipitation in the west.

Same building, different day

This is not the first time pedestrians have had trouble standing upright by Höfðatorg. Winds get heavy indeed around the building. Pictures from two years ago can be seen below.

The video above is taken from inside the 19 floor skyscraper at Höfðatorg. Interestingly enough it was in the same parking garage where an unbelievable "car flip" took place three and a half years ago. A video from the security camera was released in October and can be seen below.

Heavy winds around the Höfðatorg building have been common problems the past few years.
