Airwaves news of the day

Tonight, Thursday, the Airwaves schedule begins with full force when the biggest venue of the festival - The Reykjavik Art Museums - open their doors for artists and their fans. As well as Iðnó and the National Theatre Basement. All seven venues will have full schedules tonight. The Airwaves 2006 festival began last night with schedules at three venues, Grand Rokk, Gaukurinn and NASA, and we are Scientists drew a huge crowd.

Tilly and the Wall (US), Klaxons (UK) plus artists from the Moshi Moshi label will perform at the Reykjavik Art Museum tonight as well as the Icelandic Mugison and Ske. Tonight, the foreign press is excited about seeing the newcomers Lay Low and Seabear at Airwaves tonight, as well as Valgeir‘s Bedroom Community night at Iðnó.

According to Mr. Destiny, the festival‘s organizers Harrison Ford has showed up to the festival and is most excited to see Æla (e. Vomit) tonight. David Fricke from Rolling Stone was thrilled to be back at Airwaves.
