With just over two weeks until the festivities the capital is getting in shape. Snow has covered Reykjavik since Wednesday December 3rd and many hope that the white guest will remain during the next few weeks.

It’s a lovely time of year to wander around downtown Reykjavík soaking up the festive atmosphere. The majority of shops and services in Reykjavik extend their opening hours in the run up to Christmas until December 23rd, most staying open until 10pm.

Vilhelm Gunnarsson and Gunnar V. Andrésson, photographers at Visir, are in a holiday mood and took these nice pictures of snow and Christmas lights in Reykjavik.
